This new project is part of TI’s Climate Finance Integrity program that aims to improve the overall standard of climate finance governance in Kenya, Rwanda, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Korea, Bangladesh, Maldives and Nepal. The project was initiated by TI-Nepal in February 2016 for over a year. The total funding commitments for the project is 57,923 Euro. TI-Nepal will carry out a national level research to identify governance challenges in climate finance evidence-based advocacy. TI-Nepal has identified 4 districts (Chitwan, Kaski, Gulmi and Dolakha) for initiating local-level activities through Affiliated Organizations in their respective districts. Local projects tracking, alliances with relevant local NGOs to lobby for development pledge with the major project implementers, working on media engagement, capacity building and organizing Mobile ALAC/help desk in the most earthquake affected areas are the activities for local level. Similarly, building synergy of climate change work with other TI-Nepal’s projects such as ALAC-Outreach and IPERR is the other intended activity.
