Transparency International (TI) Nepal’s 23rd Annual General Meeting held on 5th October 2018 elected its member Khem Raj Regmi as the President of TI-Nepal for a two-year term. Mr Regmee is a former member of the Executive Committee of TI-Nepal. He is also a former Secretary of the Government of Nepal.

The AGM also elected 7 new members to the Executive Committee. Members Mukunda Bahadur Pradhan, Sabita Bhandari Baral, Surendra Bir Malakar, Buddi Narayan Shrestha, Kiran Thapa, Krishna Gyawali and Arya Shrestha were elected as Executive Committee members. As per the TI-Nepal statue, the President appoints the portfolio-holders – Vice President, Secretary General  and Treasurer – from among the elected members. The appointments is expected to take place soon.

The Annual General Meeting had the presence of 55  members out of a total of 75 . The meeting also deliberated upon the prevailing context, the strategic plan 2018-2022 of the organization, and its annual progress and audited financial reports for the years 2017-18. The reports were approved by the AGM.

The AGM and the new leadership, wishing all happy festivities on the auspicious occasions of Dashain, Tihar,  Nudaya Vintuna and Chhat, expressed commitments to pursue the anti-corruption agenda vigorously in the coming days.
