TI Nepal works in the 14 most affected district to promote integrity in post-earthquake reconstruction. During last month (Mangsir 2074) grievances were collected in Lalitpur, Dolakha and Kavrepalanchowk districts related to housing grants, banking loan and second tranche, and sent to respective government offices for their immediate attention. School reconstruction observations took place in Sinduplachowk, Sindhuli and Dolakha districts. Stakeholders- school principle, contractor, DLPIU, NGOs and media representatives participated in the progress review discussions. Discussions with women & socially backward communities were organized in Bhaktapur and Makwanpur districts to get their feedback on private housing and related governmental technical support. Policy level discussion was organized in Ramechhap where Chief District Officer, NRA district chief, Deputy Mayor, elected officials and media came together to discuss law, guidelines and directives of National Reconstruction authority. On International Anti-corruption day (December 9) around 4000 pamphlets with the message “Adopt Integrity in Post Earthquake Reconstruction” were distributed by TIN officers and volunteers in 11 affected districts and Kathmandu valley. The series of events took place under the ‘Integrity in Post-earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (IPERR)’ program.
