Senior Chartered Accountant Madan Krishna Sharma elected as President of Transparency International (TI) Nepal
The 29th Annual General Meeting of Transparency International (TI) Nepal held today elected its Member, Senior Chartered Accountant, Madan Krishna Sharma as the President. Members Sunita Gurung, Leela Prasad Sapkota, Surendra Bir Malakar, Saroj Prasad Pandey, Mahendra Narayan Shrestha, Rajesh Kumar Joshi and Sita Bhatta have been elected unopposed as executive committee members. The newly elected president has been involved in the audit profession for a long time. He had been active as General Secretary and member of the executive committee for the last four years. According to the statute of TI Nepal, the vice-president, secretary general and treasurer of the nine-member executive committee will be nominated by the president.
The meeting also approved the annual progress report and the auditor’s report of the organization for the fiscal year 2023-24. According to the organization’s annual report, there has been no improvement in the national integrity system in the country. The
political commitment against corruption has been mainly limited to speeches. Although the federal democratic system has reached the citizen level, progress has not been made towards controlling corruption.
In the Annual General Meeting, emphasis was laid on increasing the organization’s activism and strengthening cooperation through the implementation of the new strategic plan.

ट्रान्सपरेन्सी इन्टरनेशनल (टीआई) नेपालको अध्यक्षमा चार्टर्ड एकाउन्टेन्ट श्री मदन कृष्ण शर्मा निर्वाचित
ट्रान्सपरेन्सी इन्टरनेशनल (टीआई) नेपालको आज २०८१ असोज ०४ गते सम्पन्न २९ औँ वार्षिक साधारणसभाले वरिष्ठ चार्टर्ड एकाउन्टेन्ट श्री मदन कृष्ण शर्मालाई अध्यक्ष पदमा निर्वाचित गरेको छ । सभाले कार्यसमिति सदस्यमा श्री सुनिता गुरुङ्ग, श्री लीला प्रसाद सापकोटा, श्री सुरेन्द्र वीर मालाकार, श्री सरोजप्रसाद पाण्डे, श्री महेन्द्र नारायण श्रेष्ठ, श्री राजेश कुमार जोेशी, श्री सीता भट्टलाई निर्विरोध निर्वाचित गरेको छ । नवनिर्वाचित अध्यक्ष लामो समयसम्म लेखापरीक्षण पेशामा संग्लग्न रहदै आउनु भएको छ । वहाँ संस्थाको महासचिव र कार्यसमितिको सदस्यका रुपमा विगत ४ वर्ष क्रियाशील रहनु भएको थियो । ९ सदस्यीय कार्यसमितिका उपाध्यक्ष, महासचिव, कोषाध्यक्षको मनोनयन अध्यक्षद्वारा गरिने व्यवस्था संस्थाको विधानमा रहेको छ ।
सभाले संस्थाको आर्थिक वर्ष २०८०/०८१ को वार्षिक प्रगति प्रतिवेदन र लेखापरीक्षकको प्रतिवेदन पनि पारित गरेको छ । संस्थाको वार्षिक प्रतिवेदनमा देशमा सदाचार प्रणलीमा सुधार हुन नसकेको उल्लेख गरिएको छ । भ्रष्टाचार विरुद्धको राजनीतिक प्रतिवद्धता भाषणमा मात्र सीमित रहेको जनाइएको छ । संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक व्यवस्था नागरिक स्तरसम्म पुगे पनि भ्रष्टाचार नियन्त्रण तर्फमा प्रगति हुन नसकेको उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।
वार्षिक साधारणसभामा नयाँ रणनीतिक योजना कार्यान्वयनमार्फत संस्थाको सक्रियता बढाउनु पर्ने, सहकार्य सशक्त गराउनुपर्ने जस्ता कुरामा जोड दिइएको छ ।
