This report covers the period from midJuly 2025 to mid-July 2026 (Shrawan 2082 to Asar 2083) including past trends and follows a structured, non-partisan approach to assessing governance trends, corruption risks, and reform developments in Nepal during a period of exceptional political and institutional change.
The reporting period under review spans a change of government. Most quantitative governance and corruption indicators cited in this report are compiled from data collected substantially before the March 2026 election, and therefore describe the institutional system inherited by the incoming government rather than its own record.
