The 31st Annual General Meeting of Transparency International Nepal was held in Kathmandu today. The general meeting has re-elected Mr. Madan Krishna Sharma as the President of the organization. Senior Chartered Accountant Sharma has been re-elected for a second term after successfully completing one term as the President of the organization. He has been continuously associated with Transparency International Nepal for the past 13 years. He has also been involved in the organization as a former General Secretary.
Similarly, National Business Initiative (Representative: Mr. Surendrabir Malakar), Mr. Saroj Prasad Pandey, Mr. Sharad Chandra Neupane, Ms. Sushma Karna, Ms. Chandrakiran Shrestha (Joshi), Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, Mr. Suresh Pradhan and Dr. Prakash Chandra Bhattarai have been elected as members of the Executive Committee.
Election Officer Senior Advocate Shri Krishna Prasad Bhandari administered the oath of office to the elected chairperson and working committee members.
The Annual General Meeting passed the annual progress report, auditor’s report and financial report for the fiscal year 2082/83. According to the presented progress report, Transparency International Nepal has conducted public awareness, research, policy and programs to promote good governance, ethics, transparency and accountability. The financial report presents the details of the organization’s income and expenditure, as well as the proposed programs and necessary budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.
The members participating in the general assembly emphasized that in the current challenging situation, the organization should continue to make its campaigns, programs and advocacy activities more effective, result-oriented and comprehensive.
